My name is Carl Prince. I am an avid cyclist and want to put my passion in to raising money for a local charity that gets very little recognition. I am going to cycle from Blackpool Tower on December 27th 2011 to the Eiffel Tower, Paris, and back again, all within 2 weeks. I know it sounds crazy but I love cycling and setting myself a challenge (last year I cycled from Land's End to John o' Groats in 10 days) - and if what I do can raise some money along the way then it's a win-win situation!

 The Cheshire Carers Centre is a pan-Cheshire charity that provides information, support and advice to carers in the county. They have 4 offices - Chester, Crewe, Macclesfield and Northwich - and employ 22 staff. The staff work incredibly hard to help carers with their caring role - lightening the load as much as they can with things like support groups, days out, emotional support, practical support (e.g. helping fill out benefit forms and dealing with appeals), education around the caring role, and regular newsletters. They also give peace of mind with such schemes as the Emergency Card - which ensures the cared-for is looked after if the carer is stuck in traffic, or is taken ill.

 Carers are the unsung heros of our communities who work tirelessly day in, day out, and who save our government billions each year.
