I am running the Edinburgh Marathon to help raise funds for Lifton Community Centre.

I have been a resident of Lifton Village for 30 years and 20 years ago the Parish  Appraisal showed there was a need for a Community Centre in the village. Hence a charity was formed and fund raising began.

I decided I wanted to be part of this and became a Trustee. It was and still is imperative to me to see good facilities available to all. At the moment there is nowhere for the teenagers to go other than hang out at the bus shelter. Not very inspiring!!

I didn't start running until my early 50's and now in my 60's I am running my fifth marathon. As I get older the training doesn't get any easier but I am a very determined person.

I am already visualising crossing the finish line with a smile on my face and with your help raising valuable funds for the building stage of the Community Centre.
