Ever since I met my friend Sue at work, I've known about her little sister Tor who has suffered with Cystic Fibrosis. I've always wanted to help, but with no real skills (there's no way I'd be able to run a marathon!!) I didn't know how to go about it.

Recently Tor was given the amazing gift of life through donor lungs, news that everyone had been desperate to hear for a very long time. I was so pleased for Tor & her family, and I realised (even more than usual) that I am seriously abusing and taking for granted my fully functioning lungs. So in honour of Tor, who has spent years of her young life, struggling to breathe with this awful condition, I am going to give up smoking.

I have failed before, but this time I'm hopefuly that this fantastic news will spur me on. So thank you Tor, for inspiring me to get healthier!

I will be giving up on November 1st 2011.
