Fiona and I have been friends for (shockingly) 31 years. In 2015 we met our friend Laura. Between us we have 6 kids from 7 to 2 and we all meet on a Friday (when we are all a bit broken by our weeks) and we throw breaded chicken articles and pizza at our offspring while we put the world to rights and drink tea.
In 2018 we were all excited to learn that Fiona was planning on adding a 7th wee soul to craziness of our Friday afternoon gatherings.
After routine testing Fiona found out that her baby had Edwards syndrome which is a fatal chromosomal abnormality.
We were all heartbroken for Fiona and her husband Guy and the following months were understandably and variously harrowing, distressing and crushingly sad. Baby Grace came into the world sleeping in July 2018.
Out of all of the sadness came a desire to do some good. Fiona had the idea that we could raise some money to help support other families who were experiencing infant loss (at any stage).
Following a planning meeting (trip to the pub) and several cocktails we had decided that walking up mountains was not a great idea (Laura and I got lost, electrocuted and attacked by a startled pheasant up Benarty hill). We also decided that with our combined coordination being less than you would expect in a drunk octopus, that a 3 seater tandem cycling event would also be a really bad idea.
We then hit upon the idea of walking the full length of the Fife Coastal Path. All 117 miles of it!!
So this our page and we hope you will enjoy reading about our exploits and will help us to raise some money for a truly excellent cause.
