This is my first marathon and a huge challenge for me.  I really need your support as a donation will help towArds the ongoing fight against this illness.  I used to think that an illness like this occurred in other people's lives, but I was wrong.  My husband and I almost lost our 1 year old daughter ruby.  The fact that charities like meningitis research foundation work so hard to educate parents about the symptoms meant we knew something serious was wrong and acted quickly.  The fact they fund research not only into finding vaccinations but also the treatment of this meant the amazing medical professionals treated it quickly.  Things could have been so different for us as I know they have been for others who have lost loved ones.  I will never forget how close we came to that and I am privileged to be running for this charity.  Please please please support.
