Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Back in 2012, with my confidence at an all time low (and my weight at an all time high) I joined Bootcamp to get fit and loose some weight.  On the first session I met a lady there who kept me going, it was her first session too, and complete with inhaler, nothing was beating her - she encouraged me to carry on (as her "fit friend" Zoe kept her on track) and on the second session, she smiled and told me she was glad I came back.  That lovely lady was Helen Pote.  When I said I couldnt carry on she said I could - and eventually I could...

So when I heard about the triathlon in Helen's memory, my immediate reaction was what a lovely tribute but I CAN'T do that and then that day in 2012 popped into my head... So I AM going to do this - because can't shouldn't be an option!

Helen's chosen charities are Birmingham Childrens Hospital and Cancer Research UK - so as my daughter Darcie has been under the fabulous care of Mr Phillips from BIrmingham Childrens Hopsital at one of their outreach services, please show your support and help us raise the money in Helen's memory.

This is a huge challenge for me  but the support from family, friends and colleagues means so much so THANK YOU!  Let's do this...

About the charity

It's bewildering and unsettling for anyone going into hospital but especially for children and that is why we are a fundraising hospital. We raise funds to enhance the experience of our patients by providing state of the art medical equipment and facilities and creating a child-friendly environment.
