Story
Those who know me may be somewhat surprised, however having failed to do my bit to take part in events earlier in the year and on reflection, wishing to achieve a personal goal, I thought I’d sign up to do the Firewalk!

Perhaps not the best time of year to be doing this, not just the fact it’s a tad cold, it is party time after all and this could spell disaster on the shoe wearing front! But hey, it’s all in a good cause. J |

All the money raised will be going to Cancer Research UK – and having lost 4 close members of my family to Cancer (Bowel Cancer, Leukaemia and two to Lung Cancer) I am keen and genuine in my reasons in asking for your support in doing this challenge. |
There are now known to be over 200 types of Cancer – lung, breast, bowel and prostate being the most common, with approx 880 people a day being diagnosed – scary stuff. Cancer Research UK funds over half of the UK’s cancer research, including the life-saving work of over 4000 scientists, doctors and nurses fighting cancer on all fronts. None of this would be possible without the supporters and volunteers and as a result of this amazing support, their work has helped transform the way cancer is prevented, diagnosed and treated today. 1 in 3 of us now develop cancer at some point in our lives, so your support would be gratefully received. |

Taking place next WEDNESDAY, with our glowing path of red hot embers made up of pine, ash and oak being set alight after lunch. This will burn at up to 1236°F and once the flames have burnt out will be a mere 400-600°F. . . hmm, what was I thinking! |
