I'm starting this challenge with a broken leg in cast, after a silly fall off Emy! No one said this would be easy!
Those who know me know I’ve never been very brave when it comes to jumping, but my previous horse, Sultan, would not stand for doing dressage unless I took him out jumping. I tackled my first ever cross country course with him (his first time too) at Offchurch 70cm one day. Some would say it was a disaster! He stopped at nearly all the jumps, but eventually we jumped every one of them and I came away with a new goal, to go clear with him one day. Unfortunately we didn’t get another chance. My boy was kicked out in the field and broke his leg, 4 weeks into healing on box rest and I lost him to severe colic. He was only 9. I have now taken on a lovely mare called Emy, who needs to start back at the beginning, but has a heart of gold. I still have my goal to make it around a cross country course and I think this challenge will give me and Emy something to aim for and look forward to. This wobbleberry challenge has been inspired by great loss, both from the sad loss of Hannah and my inspiration to carry on my aim after the loss of Sultan. But I believe doing this challenge, raising money and achieving would go some way to healing that loss.
