Story
This August I'll be taking to the icy waters of Loch Ness, my local monster infested water-body, in aid of Aspire. Aspire is a small, yet passionate, charity that provides support, advice and services to spinal injury victims, including hospital visits, temporary accessible housing, and lightweight wheelchairs.
Swimming for an hour in turn, our team of 6 will tackle 9-degree water, not to mention contending with a large mythical beast, in order to conquer the vast length of the loch (~ 23 miles).
I've haven't personally experienced the work of Aspire, but I am humbled by their attitude and efforts. The gift of free movement is an exceptionally precious one, and I feel privileged to use mine to raise money for such a worthwhile cause.
I hope you'll consider sponsoring my swim. Your support not only means a huge amount personally, but I know it will mean a huge amount to those the charity aids. In exchange I promise swift swimming and a picture of Nessie.
Wish me luck!
