Story
I'm not going to lie to you - I have always wanted to do this but never seemed to get round to oranising.
When a group of girls got together and said they were doing it for Wellbeing of Women - I realised that I heard of this charity before. One of my colleagues had a lovely good luck party in the office when she went on maternity leave with everyone contributing presents and cards and wishing her the best. A week later we heard she had gone into labour early and lost the baby - still born.
When people started talking about it I had no idea how common it actually was and how charities such as Wellbring of Women are dedicated to improve the health of women and babies across the UK. Did you know for example that 17 babies a day die in the UK at or near birth (they are either stillborn or die shortly after birth)?
Doing something exciting for a great charity was an easy choice.
The goal of the Wellbeing of Women Music & Mountains Kilimanjaro climb, is to reach the 5895m/19,341ft summit, collectively raising £25,000.
One of the team is an internationally renowned artist, DJ Lora, who will take to the decks on the edge of the crater and play one of the worlds highest gigs to a global audience. Unfortunately there's no bar there apparently...
Any donations welcome. You know the drill - every little bit counts.
[Just for the record, no donated money will go towards my trip and 100% to the charity]
