Thank you for making it this far! All I ask now is that you take a couple of minutes to read the below and dig deep to leave a donation for my fundraising.

I have always wanted to get into the nitty gritty and help people, and what better way than volunteering to spend 3 months abroad doing just that! 

I will be going to a town called Hawassa in Ethiopia for 12 weeks as of 23rd January 2013. The theme of the programme I will be working on is 'Strengthening Civil Society'. 

I am volunteering through VSO in conjunction with the International Citizen Service (ICS) which is a government funded aid scheme for 18-25 years olds. ICS cover the costs of organising my project/trip which is GREAT because it means ALL the donations I get will go direct to VSO for project work and not on flights and expenses.

It won’t be easy, but knowing I have your support will certainly help, and I will be recording everything that goes on so I can share it with you when I return. Taking a few weeks out of my life is a small sacrifice to pay to help people really less fortunate change their own lives. These schemes need funds and of course that’s where you come in! I’ll be arranging some fund raising events, but for the time being please spread my story by word of mouth, the more who know the better!
