Kieran's Challenge Roth 2015
Fundraising for Cystic Fibrosis Trust
Fundraising for Cystic Fibrosis Trust
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On 12th July I am taking part in an event in Germany called Challenge Roth.
This event is an Ironman distance triathlon comprising a 2.4 mile swim, 110 mile bike ride and a 26.2 mile run.
Whilst I have already completed a couple of half Ironman distance triathlons and have run 2 marathons I have a lot of training to do between now and July if I am to complete this event.
Whilst I am participating in this event as a personal challenge I also want to use it as an opportunity to raise funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust and to raise awareness of the condition.
I am a member of Team Cystic Fibrosis which is a charity cycling team doing fantastic work in raising awareness of the condition with members organising and participating in a variety of fundraising events. Over the past two years the team has raised approximately £70,000.
There is currently no cure for Cystic Fibrosis but many treatments are available to manage it including physiotherapy, exercise, medication and nutrition.
Each week in the UK five babies are born with Cystic Fibrosis and two people die. More than half of the Cystic Fibrosis population in the UK will live past the age of 41 and improved care and treatments mean that life expectancy is improving.
Any money that I raise will go directly to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust to fund work in research, campaigning, support and care for those with Cystic Fibrosis.
I appreciate that we are all being asked to donate to various causes on a regular basis so support and encouragement of any kind is greatly appreciated. However if you felt able to make a donation to this very worthwhile cause that would be fantastic!
Thanks for reading.
