Story
On Monday August 20, 27 intrepid riders with Rugby League in their blood will set out from Old Trafford, Manchester, bound for Wembley Stadium and the biggest date in the sport's calendar - the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup final.
Avoiding roads whenever and wherever possible, the riders will cycle 300 tough miles through the heart of England over the next five days.
UK Red Fire and Security have once again agreed to be the headline sponsors of the ride, which is also being sponsored by Spec Ltd. Our other partners include All Sport Insurance, Yorkshire Boilers, Infinity Works, NL Truck, Car and Van Hire, Club Doncaster Foundation, and Halfords.
The ride is scheduled to end at the Wembley Legends statue on the stadium concourse on the afternoon of Friday August 24 - 24 hours before the Challenge Cup final kicks off.
The group features some household names from the world of Rugby League, with seven former internationals doing the ride: Chev Walker, Robbie Hunter-Paul, Andy Lynch, Nathan McAvoy, Gareth Ellis, Paul Highton and Mick Cassidy. An eighth legend, Keith Senior, will be driving one of our support vehicles.
Sponsors, fans and RL Cares members of staff are also riding the great adventure in its second year and doing what they can to exceed the £20,000 total raised for the charity in 2017.
