Story
In May this year I was diagnosed with non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer.
Since then I've had two successful operations to remove the tumour and I've just commenced six weeks of Immunotherapy Treatment.
On Sunday 22nd September I’m running the Sheffield 10k . When I say run it may be a steady stroll but I’m determined to complete the course!
This year I’m raising money for the charity Action Bladder Cancer UK.
Bladder cancer is not a rare cancer - it is the tenth most common cancer in the UK - that's 3% of all new cases.
Over 10,300 people are diagnosed each year, around half of those will die. Despite this, there is very limited public awareness of the disease and it is a low priority on the public health agenda. Treatments have changed very little over the past 30 years and research is seriously underfunded. Bladder cancer has been called a 'Cinderella' cancer. ABC UK is dedicated to changing this and to giving bladder cancer patients a voice.
Please make a donation to this worthwhile and very underfunded charity. Which, as you will appreciate has become very important to me. No matter how small, it will be well received.
Thanks in advance Kev
