.Help me help Rainbows :-)
I often drop some change into those collection tins and I regularly buy books from charity shops. Most of the time I come away with a quiet satisfaction because I know I have done my little bit for charity.
However, other times I come away feeling like I took an easy option. I think: “Why am I patting myself on the back for giving a pound to charity? Surely I should be patting the gentleman holding the collection tin a pat on the back.” But the reality is that very few of us have the time to dedicate to charity, so a few pounds here and there will have to do. And that really is okay, because a couple of quid here and there soon adds up. But, when you do have an opportunity to do something a little bigger, you should certainly take it!
I have set myself the ambitious goal of running the Edinburgh Marathon in May 2011. I will be running on behalf of "Rainbows hospice for children". Rainbows is a charity that offers a place for life-limited children and their families to go for the support that they cannot get anywhere else. This is my time to do "a little bit more", and your chance to do a little bit, too.
Please help by supporting me on this journey. Let the Tesco slogan pop into your head now because "every little helps". Give what you can, please.
Thank you

P.S. To the left of the screen it says I am running the Kilomathon, which is true. But, it's the marathon I am running for charity in May. the Kilomathon is a warm up.
