Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Ken was first diagnosed with a brain tumour in September 2011. After successful treatment and a long recovery he was able to spend time with his loving family and friends, return to work, play a bit of cricket and travel to many countries.
Unfortunately in September 2013 a new, inoperable tumour was found and Ken passed away on the morning of Saturday, 23 November 2013, surrounded by his loving family.
Ken never once complained about his illness or his lot. He was so very brave and we are grateful for the extra time we were able to spend with him.
In his memory we wish to support these three charities which mean a lot to us. You can read about them and why they are important to us on their respective pages.
Marie Curie Cancer Care
Never under estimate the gift of a good night’s sleep.
When he was no longer able to communicate Ken needed someone to watch over him whilst we slept. The Marie Curie Nursing Service gave us that gift. Their quiet, gentle presence in our home overnight meant we were able to sleep in the secure knowledge Ken was in safe hands.
