Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Last year in a fit of madness I agreed to take part in a Mad Moped Challenge which involves riding with a small team on a 50cc Moped from John O'Groats to Lands End starting on a cold and probably very wet Sunday March 27th and finishing on Friday 1st April (how appropriate), a total distance of 1000 miles. Each days run will be about 160 miles. The bike has been supertuned by the fitting (of my beloved make) Norton stickers though the bike lacks ABS or traction control. The bike will be sold at the end of the run and the if there is any profit made the money will be donated to this charity. When I return I will also be taking part in the Wootton Bassett Help for Heroes run which is on 3rd April but this time on my trusty 650SS Norton.
So please please dig deep and donate now for this very worthy cause, every single penny donated will be going to Help for Heroes, ALL expenses including petrol, van hire, accomodation etc. is being paid for out of the riders own pocket. Many thanks,
Ken.
Not long to go now, getting a bit apprehensive. I may have a sore *** when I get back, is there a qualified masseur about?
I am sorry but after 3 days of flat out riding I blew the engine on the bike. Maximum speed on this moped was 30 mph on the flat and uphill very much less with foot assistance needed on one of the steep hills. I did carry on to Lands End by borrowing a spare moped or driving the support vehicle. I had to discard the bag on the back and use the passenger seat to ride the bike as my legs were too long!
