Last year my very good friends received a devastating blow when their 11 year old son Olly was diagnosed with a brain tumour. They do what they do best and as a strong family just being them, they stuck by each other as Olly had an operation and months of treatment. Instead of feeling sorry for himself Olly decided to and wanted to make a difference for children going through the same thing he was. His dream was to have a huge team to run the Iconic Great north run in Newcastle just days after his birthday. Plus outlook on life throughout his treatments has been exactly like the little legend he is, positive and ambitious. I’m running the GNR for Olly and determined to give it everything to get my pb for a half marathon, a distance I only covered for the first time this year.
