I’m one of 100 Vodafone employees from around the World who will be taking part in the Amsterdam Marathon on October 19th 2014 to raise funds for the Vodafone Foundation Moyo Lesotho Challenge. Running marathons for me is a new found passion that began in the last 2 years,  through me taking part in three half marathons, including a High Altitude Half Marathon in Lesotho.

The Vodafone BIG Marathon is granting me a chance to do what I am passionate about, whilst contributing tremendously to changing the lives of children infected and affected by HIV/AIDS in my home country; this to me, is what makes this marathon life-changing.. For the very first time, I will be running the 40+ kilometres with the aim of changing the fate and destiny of an entire generation of children through the Vodafone Moyo Lesotho Campaign; nothing can describe how fulfilling this run will be for me.

Moyo Lesotho is about getting a generation of young people living with HIV onto treatment. We know that of 41,000 children and young people under the age of 16 living with HIV in Lesotho, as many as 36,000 are not on ARVs. By raising money and using mobile technology, we can get more children tested and on treatment faster, and keep them on treatment long term.

We all know that if you are not infected, you are affect. It is our duty, through our individual and collective effort, to save and protect future generations in Lesotho. "We live in a completely inter-pendent world, which simply means we cannot escape each other. How we respond to HIV/AIDS depends, in part, on whether we understand this interdependence. It is not someone else's problem. This is everybody's problem"- Bill Clinton.
