Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
We are raising funds for a cause very close to us. Our own company Goods Deeds Fund was set up years ago to benefit many local good causes (including MND) and named the 'Castle Comfort Doug Brown MN Fund' Doug, a sufferer, was former Stoke on Trent Lord Mayor and founder of the Staffordshire Lads and Dads Soccer movement.
Personally I have known colleagues and friends whose lives have been touched by this condition. As a mobility equipment company we have donated equipment to local families where fast action was required and we continue to do so.
A very good friend of mine who lives on the island of Lanzarote was recently diagnosed with the condition and so we set out to ship and install one of our products, a riser recliner chair, for Senora Lemes to use - requiring a journey of over 2,000 miles.
The video of the story is to be found by clicking here and we urge everyone to watch it and make a donation.
On another note, to help raise more funds for this valuable cause we are helping illegal telephone canvassing companies that contact us to learn from their mistakes.
As a small business we are approached by phone on a daily basis by canvassing companies who maybe are not aware that is an offence to make these irritating cold calls. If they are reported to the authorities they can be heavily fined - but we realise that an education exercise to deal with this is less harsh, and offenders may simply be in need of some advice.
All businesses who call us in this way will not be reported - as long as they confirm that they will mend their ways by deleting our number from their records. BUT SECONDLY and more importantly - make a donation to this page.
We are sure all offending callers will not repeat what may be an innocent mistake.... and all of us will be delighted that they have helped a very deserving cause.
