Thanks for visiting our team fundraising page.  We've joined together to raise money for Kidscape charity.

On Saturday 12th April 2014 Origin MMA Academy and friends will be participating in a 12-HOUR BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU SPARRING MARATHON!!!!!! (a.k.a GrappleThon).

I've worked with many young people and adults who have been bullied or abused in their lives and I've seen the devastating and lasting impact it's had on their lives - most suffer with long term severe depression and anxiety issues, many self harm, some even attempt suicide.

I believe that early intervention to support people is key in preventing people having to go through years of suffering and also the chances of recovery from the affects of abuse/bullying is far greater with early intervention.

What I really admire about Kidscape charity is that they teach young people the tools to manage bullies and young people learn confidence/assertiveness skills that empower them to help themselves.  It means a lot to me to keep children safe and to potentially save lives.
