Story
On May 22nd 2018 I’ll be heading to Mongolia, in what will be my 1st adventure under the banner of "Women on a Mission" https://www.womenmission.com, a non-profit organisation which supports and empowers abused women. I’ll be joining 12 other incredible women on this completely self funded trek, and together we’ll be challenging ourselves travelling to the outer edges of a country rarely explored, visiting women’s centres for survivors of domestic violence, offering our individual skills and knowledge through workshops to the community, alongside raising money for women survivors of war and conflicts all over the world via Women for Women International UK.
2017 was a milestone for women, a year that changed the way women’s voices were heard all over the world. Many painful stories finally found a place to be shared, uncovered, and men and women alike promised each other, no more, no more shall these painful stories go unnoticed, unheard and un-acted upon. The world got to know #MeToo and #TimesUp. Let’s make 2018 the year of action, putting all those powerful words and hashtags into meaningful ways of making this world a better place, not just for women, but for all minorities and people struggling with abuse, injustice, acceptance and recognition.
So to all of whom is still reading and would like to see that great momentum of empowerment and compassion continue into 2018, follow me on this journey and donate via the site, helping me raise 30.000HKD for WfWI, all donations going directly and uncut, and no amount being too small or too big.
In advance, thanks for your generosity and support in pursuit of making the world a little better.
Love
Katrine
