Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. My mum was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in January 2014 and it is with deep regret and great sadness that she passed away on October 11th 2015.
We started this page when mum was first diagnosed as we wanted to join in the support of the charities that try and generate awareness of early diagnosis. This is so prevalent as the survival rate of pancreatic cancer hasn't improved in over 40 years and it's about time that changed.
I ran a Santa Run with my dear friend Portia Forte in December 2015 - we raised over £18,000 including Gift Aid. My company, Better Placed, organised a Bike-a-thon in 2016 and our grand total raised was over £7,000.
We re-opened the page to enable friends and family to contribute to the charity on behalf of Monica, one of the bravest and kindest people we've ever met and someone we're proud to be able to call our mum.
Some of the activities that have contributed to the raising of the funds so far have included cake baking extravaganzas, a charity sale, mushroom forays and truffle hunting. We've also been supporting the PURPLE SELFIE CAMPAIGN for the month of November (pancreatic awareness month) by having silly parties and making people contribute!

Thanks again for reading and as you all know my mum was really taken aback by all your generosity and continued support during her illness, so on her behalf we thank you so much for all your kindness. Xx Claire, Katie xx
