I'm sleeping rough so children don't have to!
This month I am taking part in The BIG Sleepout in aid of childrens charity SAFE@LAST.
I will be sleeping rough in Rotherham on FRIDAY 18th October! This is going to be tough but the personal challenge, the discomfort, the lack of sleep and braving all weathers is worth it to raise funds to support the vital work thatSAFE@LAST does to help children at risk through running away safe in the South Yorkshire region.
The children SAFE@LAST works with are those who have 'fallen through the gaps' and have been let down by their parents/carers, by the authorities and by society. These are children who feel they have little choice but to spend a night or more on the street to flee violence or abuse or because they have been thrown out from home. They are children and they all have the right to be loved, to be kept safe and to be given a decent start in life. This is why I'm putting myself through this hard challenge again. I know that every penny you give will make a difference to SAFE@LAST.
Please check out the event website www.thebigsleepout.co.ukfor more info about the event and especially if you or somebody you know would like to take part.
So please dig deep and support this amazing cause! Thank you :)
