On Sunday the 26th of May I will be running the FULL Edinburgh Marathon with my mum. Yippee! I am doing this for me but also at the same time I want to raise awareness for mental health... it is ok, not to be ok :-)
My friend Rosie was the most fun, kind and beautiful person! She was incredible! She was always surrounded by people roaring with laughter at a party or doing something fun and challenging (photo above of Rosie running along a slippy groyne, using my head for support!).
Rosie has inspired me to do a lot of things, one of them has been running. She once suggested I did a half marathon and I was like no way! It scared me, I was amazed that she could do it but I thought it was unachievable for me. About 3 years ago I ran the New Forest Half Marathon for Rosie and she was right... I could do it! Now here I am doing a whole marathon, I know she will be cheering me on!
I’m running for Mind because so many people suffer or have suffered from mental health. Charities like Mind can help.
I hope that raising awareness that, - it’s ok, not to be ok and encouraging people to talk about how they are feeling will help.
I will be looking for running buddies... so hola if you fancy a run! :-)
