The Yorkshire 3 Peaks, 14 June 2014
We stand for everyone affected by dementia to find a cure

Story

On Saturday 14th June. Over 100 brave Page Group contenders will endure a tough 25 mile route across Pen-Y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, the three largest peaks in the Yorkshire Dales.  Not content with walking it I will once again be running  with the aim of completing the challenge in half the allotted time. This means I will essentially be completing a marathon with the added bonus of having to tackle 3 peaks and over 2000 meters of elevation along the way. Throw in the usual June Yorksire weather of sleet and gales force winds that we have enjoyed the last few years and this becomes quite a challenge. Of course it's all  worth it for  great cause.

This year we’re raising money for Alzheimer’s Research UK. There are currently 820,000 people living with Dementia in the UK. By 2040 this figure will grow to 1,500,000. There is currently no cure and little funding. The money raised from this event will go towards funding two vital research scholarships in the quest to find a cure and help bring hope to thousands of families across the UK who are profoundly affected by dementia.
