Remember that you are donating to those who do not have what we have. They don't have the comforts that we take for granted. Heating, good quality clothing, electric etc. 

Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): 

“O you who believe! Spend of that with which We have provided for you, before a Day comes when there will be no bargaining, nor friendship, nor intercession. And it is the disbelievers who are the Zaalimoon (wrongdoers)”
[al-Baqarah 2:254] 

What this verse says is that everyone you love or love you will only think of themselves on the day of judgement however the charity you have will intercede for you. Imagine the gardens and palaces Allah has waiting for you becuase you sacrificed your hard earned money on poor people who you don't even know. Imagine a poor child receiving food and clothes and how happy you would make them. Tears of sorrow and hardship becoming tears of joy because of the sacrifice YOU made. Brothers and sisters don't you think they deserve this? Donate for a just cause for it will help you in this life and in the next Insha allah

Donate what you can even if it is a little because any amount of money can build up and go to something amazing and helpful for these people in need
