I can't actually believe that I have agreed to run my first (and last) marathon. Yes, I will actually run 26 miles (44km for my foreign friends) in October. I am going to spend the next 5 months going through training hell to get there. I have never been known for being a sporty person, I managed to avoid every cross country at school as I could barely run for 5 minutes, so to decide to do this is a pretty big thing for me.

I feel blessed when I say that I do not have any first hand experience of this horrible illness that it is childhood cancer, but I am a mummy and as a parent there is nothing more horrendous than the thought of being told that your child has cancer. I cannot imagine how helpless you must feel watching your baby go through hell. I would like to think that if such a terrible thing happened I could at least rely on some support, which is why I want to try and raise at least £500 for CLIC (children with cancer) as a small way of helping.

I know that every day people are asking you for money for something or other, but please, please think of these helpless children and the hell that their parents are going through. Or on a brighter side think of my next 5 months or torture!
