Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

We've had a Guide Dog helping a colleague in the Institute of Cosmology and Gravitation at the University of Portsmouth (where I work) for a few months and have had the chance to observe first hand how much training and effort goes into getting these dogs ready, as well as how much they mean to the people they work with. So when a few of us in ICG were looking for a Charity to support for the Great South Run we hit on doing it for the Guide Dogs.

This will be my first 10 mile race (I've done some 5k before) and it's going to be a challenge for me!

The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.
