Over the last 200 years, we humans have tackled several illnesses and even conquered some.  However, Cancer of the "Big C" as its well known, is one illness that still eludes even the best scientists.  Everyone you speak to has been touched by this disease is some way or another.  My father was a wonderful man who is missed by everyone who knew him as is my mother in law.  Both my husband and I have lost one of our parents to this disease and our children have lost two grandparents.  It breaks my heart to think neither my father or my mother in law lived to see the fantastic adults our children grew up to be.

With so many families suffering the same fate we suffered, my daughter and I want to do our little bit to help.  With that in mind we have chosen to challenge ourselves and trek the Inca trail to Machu Picchu in Peru.  We have desided to raise money for MacMillian Nurses as they did a fantastic job looking after my mother in law in the last moments of her life, a job that must be sole destroying and heartbreaking, not that you would ever know it as they were so cheerful and warm hearted whenever you saw them.  They helped keep her spirits up even on the worst days and were a constant suport to my father in law.
