UK Police Unity Tour · 24 July 2015
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving Page
I am taking part in the UK Police Unity Tour between the 24th and 26th July 2015 cycling from the National Police Memorial in London to the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire. I will be riding in memory of my husband Steven Stimpson who was killed on duty in his traffic car over 16 years ago.
We will be cycling 170 miles and raising money for COPS (Care Of Police Survivors) who help the families of Police Officers killed in the line of duty rebuild their lives. Each rider is issued a blue memorial bracelet inscribed with the name and information of a Police Officer who died in the line of duty, which we will carry to the finish line.
COPS is a UK registered charity dedicated to helping families of police officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty, rebuild their lives. It aims to ensure survivors have all the help they need to cope with such a tragedy.
COPS enables survivors to help survivors it is that shared experience that is the basis for the peer support programme and aims to build a network of survivors around the UK developing the capability of having a local survivor as soon as required. The extent of the help provided being controlled by the new survivor.
COPS and I would be very grateful if you could sponsor me to help the families of those who have lost their lives doing the job that they loved.
Regards
Karen Ford
