Story
Hiya,
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page...greatly appreciated.
As many of you will know I have very recently battled with stage 2B Hodgkin's Lymphoma. 2010 certainly represented itself with incredible highs and harrowing lows and looking back it is definitely a defining moment in ALL of my 24 years :)
Everyone has defining moments, however it's what we choose to do with those moments that differentiates us. Instead of living in fear and anxious about what else life has to throw at me, I am making the most of a rather rubbish situation.
In January 2012 I will be getting my inactive bum cheeks in to action and will be climbing Africa's Mount Kilimanjaro. The largest free standing mountain in the world at 19,341ft high. Around 25,000 people attempt to reach the summit every year; 12,000 fail to do so!
The climb is to raise awareness and funds of Macmillan Cancer Support. This amazing company help thousands of people daily deal with the devastating affects living with cancer brings. They rely on people from all walks of life to raise money for them. Without this generosity, they wouldn't be able to fund vital services and develop new ways to support people affected by cancer.
Macmillan helped me and my family personally so I am keen on giving something back and this is where you come in...
Now I am not really sure how to word this but please sponsor me. A little from a lot of people goes along way. It is a huge target so every penny will help. It will be your generosity and support that gets me to the top because quite frankly I'm petrified and currently can not even walk the stairs without being out of breath!
Genuinely though, I will be massively grateful for anything you can give to make a big difference for these people.
Throughout being poorly I tried to keep a little blog, take a look if you have get a chance. I will be updating this with details of training and guarenteed clumsiness along the way...
