Fundraising for JOINING JACK
Alright then,
If you're here, I've asked you to be so probably know that I spend a lot of time riding bikes. Is riding 100 miles going to be a challenge? Yes - It's about 33% further than I've ever ridden before. So that's that out the way.
The next question is why should I, or more to the point, DMD research have your money, instead of you (or the tax man in the case of gift aid!)
Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is a degenerative genetic condition that starts to show symptoms in late infancy and Jack Johnson has been diagnosed with it. I don't know Jack but being the parent of a healthy little girl, reading his parents description of what they're facing over the next 15-20 years reduced me to tears.
I don't know what I'd do if Lena was ill, with a disease that couldn't be cured. I know I don't have the skills to find a cure, so raising funds for someone else too sounds like a good place to start.
