JustGiving Men of Movember · 30 November 2010
This Movember, ten of JustGiving’s bravest (when it comes to facial hair) team members are joining forces – and follicles – across our office. Some of us have joined eagerly. Others, under duress. But we've all pledged ourselves to a very important cause: to raise money this Movember for the Everyman Male Cancer Campaign.
Why are we doing this?
Moustaches might be funny, but the rising incidence of male cancer isn’t. The Everyman Male Cancer Campaign is working to raise awareness of and to promote research in male testicular and prostate cancer. We hope you’ll help us support their important efforts.
Do we have other motives?
Secretly, yes. We wouldn’t admit this to most people. More than a few of us harbour hope that our moustaches will gain us even a modicum of Magnum PI’s pulling power. It’s not just going to get hairy too – it might get hot too! Stay tuned….
Help us
We’ve committed (as you can read below). We hope YOU'LL commit too - by donating to our page. Remember: donating through JustGiving is fast, easy and 100% secure. Every donation goes straight to the charity, and JustGiving makes sure Everyman receives Gift Aid on every eligible donation too. With JustGiving your gift goes further, faster in the fight against male cancer.
THE PLEDGE: JUSTGIVING MEN OF MOVEMBER
We will not shave our facial hair that grows between our upper lips and our noses for the month of November (2010).
We will sport our mouthbrows proudly in our homes, gyms, pubs, restaurants and meetings - stoically ignoring any looks or laughs we might get.
We will wipe our moustaches after drinking milk, soy lattes, and the like.
We will visually document our progress of this follicular journey.
Finally, most importantly, we will ask our friends, families and colleagues to support us in this endeavor.
Not just because we’re itchy.
We will do this because we truly care about progressing awareness of and research in male cancer. Together we will fundraise to support the crucial work the Everyman Male Cancer Campaign is doing in this field.
Signed,
