Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This year I've up the anti with a race in which only 100 people from around the world are allowed to enter, for safety reasons, and only 60% complete each year. This will certainly be the toughest ultra event I have done so far and I'm now getting very excited about the challenge and adventure ahead.
The course this year has been officially measured out and it will be 222km (139miles) long and will take place over 7 days in the Para region of Brazil. It will take 3 flights and a 10 hour boat ride to get to base camp and we'll have just 1.5 days to acclimatise to the 80-90% humidity under the jungle canopy.
So why am I doing this? It's just purely for the challenge. The challenge of doing something which will test my physical and mental limits to the max. The fact that only 60% complete the course each year makes me even more determined and I know that as long as I don't get any silly injuries I WILL make it to the finish line and collect the coveted Jungle Marathon medal.
And while doing this challenge I also wanted to ensure something good came from my efforts and it was for that reason that I ask you all to make a donation to the Cancer Research UK charity.
