In March of 2020, 100 HSBC colleagues from across the globe will be challenging themselves to a high altitude terrain climb in Ecuador to raise money and awareness for mental health.

I chose to fund WNY Ovarian Cancer Project, a non-profit organization with a mission to provide education on the symptoms and risk factors of ovarian cancer. They provide resources and supportive services to women with cancer and their families. This group is amazing to those who have been affected by this deadly disease. I have seen and experienced their support first hand, leading me to where I am today.

The role of mental health is extremely important in cancer outcomes.  Being diagnosed with cancer changes your life.  Knowing someone who has experienced a similar journey or who will be there to answer any questions you may have is very comforting.  We are not alone in this world. The stats and facts are out there, 1 in 3 individuals will be diagnosed with cancer at some point during their lifetimes. This affects everyone around them, family and friends.
