Story

The event I am taking part in is the Horwich Pool Triathlon which takes place on Sunday May 5th 2013. The Horwich event is one of the longest established races on the North West triathlon calendar and the course is tough enough to test the best. The 500m swim takes place in Horwich leisure centre and is followed by a tough 40k cycle ride which climbs from the start and continues to roll relentlessly  for the remainder of the route, giving the bikers an opportunity to establish an early lead. The 8.6k off-road run section gives runners the opportunity to 'turn the tables' as the route climbs to the famous landmark of Rivington Pike before descending and returning to the finish close to the leisure centre.

Having been coached by Steve and seeing the effort and determination that he shows as well as being part of the Rugby League family I have decided to support The Steve Prescott Foundation.

About the charity

The Steve Prescott Foundation was set up by a totally inspirational man Steve Prescott MBE. In 2006 he was diagnosed with Pseudomyxoma Peritonei a terminal cancer & sought out to raise funds for The Christie Hospital and the Rugby League Benevolent Fund. The SPF changes the lives of so many people.
