Story
As I'm getting older - nearer to retirement than birth - I wanted to challenge my body in two ways this year. In April I will once again be running the Virgin London Marathon (my sixth time), and then in October I will be treking 5,357 metres (17,575 feet) over 12 days to Everest Base Camp.
Why am I doing this??? Because I like a challenge and I want to raise money for a really worthy cause. Southwark Salvation Army is situated in the Elephant and Castle area of London. Along with my wife, we are the Salvation Army officers in charge of the church. The money I raise through these activities will go to the mission of the church, which we believe is helping to change lives within the local community. The areas that we particularly engage in are, homeless services, youth services and anything that we believe will help to impact the lives of people.
Please dont delay - sign up today and help change a community for the better.
