Story
What am I raising money for?
As most of you probably already know I'm off to Tanzania this summer to teach Maths there. I'm doing this through a fantastic scheme called Warwick In Africa that sends Warwick students to Africa to teach maths during the summer. The scheme provides good quality teaching for pupils, direct investment in resources for the schools, and helps to improve the quality of the African teachers who are already teaching in the schools.
I could bang on and on about how great this scheme is, but instead I think you should watch Lenny Henry bang on and on about how great this scheme is in the videos section!
How am I raising money?
In order to help contribute to the money needed for this scheme to keep running year on year, on the 9th of July myself and 67 others have decided to take on the ever so slightly ridiculous Three Peaks Challenge - attempting to climb the 3 biggest mountains in Britain (Ben Nevis, Scarfell Pike and Snowdon) in less than 24 hours. I'm reliably informed that it is do-able and therefore have taken the decided that it will be done. Simples.
Any money you can give will be really appreciated and will really help to make a difference, Warwick In Africa estimate that for every £16.20 raised that's one extra pupil in Africa that the scheme can reach.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Any donations will be greatly appreciated!
