Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 9 August 2015 I will be running the Sydney City2Surf 14km race and I really hope that each of you will be able to support me.
My Story
In February 2015, I lost someone who was very close to my heart. My beautiful cousin Michelle Brivik Sloot lost her battle with brain cancer - glioblastoma.
By setting up this fund, I am going to keep a promise that I made her. Studying to become a doctor, I promised Michelle that I would do everything in my power to find a cure for a disease that has such devastating effects and this is my first step in keeping that promise.
I have witnessed first hand how cancer can unexpectedly and very abruptly rip away every bit of happiness and hope a person has. This is not something I wish for other people to experience and by raising money in her honour I hope to be able to help eradicate cancer completely!
