Story

Hi folks, thanks for visiting our justgiving site.

Leigh James and John Harris are running the "Marathon Eryri" - (Snowdonia marathon) on October 26th, to raise funds for armed forces charity SSAFA. Its a cause close to both our hearts, we have many mates in the armed forces and consider everyone that serves to be a hero and often under appreciated.

The thing that pushed us over the edge to actually get off our backsides and launch this effort   was attending a fund raising dinner in memory of, Stephen Laws, an ex serviceman who died in March last year. His son Mark is a good mate and is aiming to raise £50,000 in his dads name http://www.stephenlawsmemorialyear.com/# . At some point on that very  drunken night, we committed to putting our joint efforts to helping, so here we are....

The Snowdon marathon is an incredibly tough challenge, its recognised as the hardest marathon in Europe and involves two major climbs at mile 6 and mile 23 and a quad destroying descent . And those of you who know North Wales well will know that the weather at that time of year on top of the mountains is brutal..... We will be running in SSAFA vests, Leigh will have the Welsh dragon on his, I will be proudly displaying the White Rose of Yorkshire.

Wish us luck and support us as much as you can, every donation no matter how small is hugely appreciated!
