I don't normally fundraise when doing triathlons as I do several a year and folk would get a little irritated if I kept rattling the tin. In fact, the last time I asked you to sponsor me was for Ironman UK back in 2009. This time, I'm doing the Liverpool Triathlon. It's only an Olympic distance race (1.5km swim/4okm bike/10km run) but that's not the point. We've all seen and heard the terrible stories coming out of Syria and so I felt that it was worth shaking the begging bowl again
