Story
I ran the 10-mile Great South Run in Southsea and Portsmouth, which took place on 24 October 2010. This year I ran to raise money for NACRO, formerly known as the National Association for the Care and Rehabilitation of Offenders, and now known as The Crime Reduction Charity.
NACRO runs projects that help to break the cycles of misery, poverty, and dependency that keep some people stuck in the revolving door of our criminal justice system. These are people whose talents can often be channelled into more rewarding and less self-destructive activties.
In 2009 my time was 01:48:50 (just short of 11mins a mile) but I finished inside the top 50% (9862/21000). I was running for Mind, the National Association for Mental Health, and raised £725 through JustGiving, 145% of my £500 target. This year my friends have surpassed that with their sponsrship - taking me to a whopping 198% or £991. Thank you all very much. I'll post my time and place when I get it.
