Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm taking part in the DWP Walking Challenge 2011 to raise money for the Civil Service Benevolent Fund (CSBF). The CSBF helps UK civil servants, ex-civil servants, and people connected to them, and also the employees and their families of many associated organisations which used to be part of the UK civil service, in times of desperate need. It’s the CSBF's 125th anniversary year, and to celebrate, they're aiming to raise £125,000 during 2011 to support their help and advisory activities. The sorts of things the CSBF does is help people during bereavement, long-term and terminal illness, disability, relationship breakdown, financial crisis and many other sorts of crises when people need a little help to get through life. If you want to know more about the work of the CSBF, please take a look at last year's Impact Report:
I'm hoping to walk at least 1 million steps between 1st July and 13th October 2011, and you can see my progress via the league table here http://walkingchallenge.rightcorecare.co.uk/league-table (I'm in AM-blers team, just hover the cursor over the number to the left of the team name and you can see a break-down of how much each person has walked).
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thank you so much for reading, and please donate - whatever you feel you can afford. It will mean so much to people who need some help in a crisis.
Warm wishes
