When I swim the channel this summer, I am raising money for YMCA Newbury, a regional charity connected with YMCA England, and hoping to support, encourage, and empower the youth I've met over the last year volunteering and getting to know them. 

YMCA provides places for youth (11-18's) to belong and be safe, to get support if they need it, and to ask questions about life, current events, and their future.

The money I hope to raise will both help the charity continue to put on regular cafe's and sports tournaments,  but some of it will be put towards future projects and activities that the youth suggest and help plan.
