Jo's Wobbleberry Challenge

Wobbleberry Challenge · 11 February 2018
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have signed up to take part in the Wobbleberry challenge because I have been inspired by Hannah Francis: her determination, her optimism, her bravery and her legacy. In 2015 Hannah was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer & the prognosis was very poor. In March 2016 she founded her charity, Hannah’s Willberry Wonder Pony to raise money to fulfill two principal objectives – to fund research into osteosarcoma & to provide equestrian experiences (“Willberry’s Wishes”) to seriously ill people. Hannah sadly passed away in August 2016 at just 18 years of age, but her charity is continuing to grow.
The Wobbleberry challenge is aimed at middle-aged wimpy riders (that's me!) to push themselves to achieve something they have never done & complete a British Eventing one day event. The BE80 comprises of a Dressage test, Show Jumping round & a Cross Country course.
There will be many parts to this challenge for me & my horse Beanie:
Due to his young age - 6 later this year, my horse Beanie has only started jumping about 4 months ago & although he loves it, he has a lot to learn in terms of technique & balance. He has been jumping up to a maximum of 65cm, so he has a way to go before he is confidently jumping the required 80cm.
My jumping confidence was completely blown several years ago & I have only started to regain my bravery in the course of teaching Beanie to jump. Confidence, along with two chronic health conditions will be my biggest walls to climb.
However, we are excited to start our journey & hopefully raise as much money as possible for
Hannah’s Willberry Wonder Pony
