Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As many of you will be aware, on 18 September 2012, Police Constables Nicola Hughes aged 23 and Fiona Bone aged 32, from Greater Manchester Police, were killed in a gun and grenade attack whilst on duty responding to a report of a burglary.

As a Police staff member I will proudly be joining my colleages in team Merpol along with numerous other colleagues throughout the UK as we will attempt to run and conquer 250 miles before 4th April 2014.

Starting on 1st December we will be  running 2 miles everyday for 125 days, totalling 250 miles to raise funds for 3 charities that the PC Nicola Hughes Memorial Fund are supporting;

1. Victim Support

2. Care Of Police Survivors

3. North West Police Benevolent Fund

I am relevantly new to running having taking it up just over 18 months ago to run in my first 5k race for life, prior to that I could not run to the end of my gate let alone 250 miles!! So this is certainly a huge challenge for me but one that I feel is very worthwhile.

I hope that you can show your support to both the charity & myself by making a donation, no matter how big or small, every single penny will be appreciated.
