Just under 3 weeks to my first Marathon in Liverpool. Thank you to everyone who has donated so far - it will make me run faster xx

I am running the Liverpool Marathon on Sunday 9 October 2011, and the Cardiff Half Marathon on 16 October 2011, to raise money for the RSPCA (Salford & Manchester Branch).

The Manchester & Salford Branch of the RSPCA is a separate charity from the national RSPCA and has been running since 1963.

The charity is dedicated to improving the lives of animals in the local area but being financially independent means it is entirely reliant upon local support to help fund its work.

The branch strives to promote kindness and prevent and suppress cruelty to animals by:

* Caring for and rehoming animals

* Providing welfare neutering

* Providing welfare microchipping

* Providing welfare veterinary assistance

N.B They are NOT the animal hospital and have very limited resources.

They achieve this work through a comprehensive programme of animal welfare promotion, rehoming locally rescued animals and offering an advice and support line to the public via telephone and email.
