Everyone knows that I am a huge cat lover. From cute and cuddly kittens right up to the amazing creatures that you generally only see on TV documentaries or in zoos. So when I saw the opportunity to participate in a tiger conservation project in India in October 2018, I couldn't think of a better way to help the animals I love.

The downside of this, is that I will have to get fit! Anyone who knows
me, knows that I am at my happiest sitting on my sofa, watching a film with a takeaway and glass of wine (and usually with a cat on my lap). So to get ready for the four days of trekking, through the Lesser Himalayan range of Northern India - reaching altitudes of up to 2842m and walking around 14km each day - will be no easy feat. No electricity, no showers or toilets and definitely no sofas!

The trek is then followed by three days at the Kanha National Park where I will spend the time learning about, and getting involved with, conservation activities including assisting with removing weeds, planting trees and habitat maintenance. All of this will help to maintain the vital ecological balance in the park; which goes towards preserving tigers, and other creatures, in this part of the world.

I am very excited, albeit nervous, about preparing and participating in this amazing opportunity and your support and donations will help to encourage me as well as making a difference to such a wonderful
