Story
On 23rd March the Tri-X team (of which I am part) is running the Coventry Half Marathon to raise money for the NSPCC in memory of Philippa Evans who died in 2012 at the age of 59.
Philippa obtained a law degree from Birmingham University and for 25 years was one of Coventry City Council's childcare solicitors, for many of those she headed up the legal childcare team. Subsequently she was one of the co-founders of Tri-X, specialist consultants providing up-to-date web-enabled manuals on good practice, government policy and legislative changes for local authorities and other care providers, originally concentrating on children's services, now expanded to include adult services.
Philippa is well known for following rugby, especially Wales and almost any other sport and she was always active: walking holidays, tennis, raft racing on the Wye, ski-ing. She ran the London Marathon, the Sarsen Trail and a number of Moon Walks and Great North Runs.
So the Cov Half Marathon for the NSPCC feels the right way to remember Philippa, who was exceptionally good company as a friend and a conscientious colleague and who is sorely missed.
